“My first passion was classical French and now I’m cooking Southern barbecue,” - Larry Baker – Mount Dora Bar-B-Que Company

The entire barbecue team is made up of Larry Baker, a builder/contractor and former Mount Dora city councilman; his longtime girlfriend Mary Hadden, a local Montessori school head and teacher; and friend Debi Harbin, an Orlando-based food photographer for Harbin Photography.

Since the start of their barbecue partnership two years ago, and thousands of dollars later, the three have not only placed at every competition they’ve entered, but taken the State Championship titles for 2008 and 2009.
